1:1 coaching

Mark is an ICF Certified, specialist integrative coach with extensive experience working with clients on issues of complex orientation, gender, identity, relationships, sex, mental health and self confidence.

Many of Mark’s clients report that he “gets it” in a way that other practitioners don’t. Mark combines deep knowledge of sexuality and gender, with a broad range of coaching and therapeutic skills.

Mark is a trauma trained practitioner and draws from a variety of practices including somatic work, Internal Family Systems, CBT, visualisation, Emotional Freedom Therapy, inner child work and psychodynamic techniques.

Most people benefit from having at least 6 sessions with the first meeting focusing on getting to know you and establishing goals for the coaching process.

If it’s our first time meeting, please book the “initial consultation” option. If you’d prefer to have a less formal, one-off discussion with me, there’s an option to indicate that on the intake form.

What to expect…

Our sessions are conducted in a relaxed, soothing environment. I will normally begin by making sure you are comfortable and see how you have been since our last session.

We will then carefully discuss what your aims are for the session, making sure you access precisely what you need from our time together. It’s okay if you’re not totally sure.

Next I will invite you to share what’s been going and help you to deepen your understanding by asking carefully chosen questions. Depending on the issue, we may delve into certain aspects more deeply.

Throughout the session, I act as your guide, helping you to broaden your awareness and break down any barriers that may be present.

Depending on your needs, we may adopt more of a talk-coaching style or engage in deeper exercises to connect with the subconscious. I will always check in with you what feels right as we go along.

Ultimately the answers come from you, so I tend to be fairly non-directive however you may wish to ask me questions or request that I provide more of a teaching style on certain topics, which I am happy to do.

It’s quite common for people to have counselling or therapy alongside coaching. I am happy to tailor our sessions to compliment other support you may be receiving.

We normally take an hour, then leave 15 minutes for reflection. If you have any feedback or if there’s anything you would like me to do differently don’t hesitate to ask.
